How Can It Be True...

EGG-cellent Easter

It was a fun-filled Easter with the boys this year. Now that Connor can even search for eggs on his own, it was so fulfilling to watch both boys' excitement. After naptime, we went to Eric's Aunt Lynn and Uncle Art's house for a delicious dinner and to spend a little time with family.

"Found one!"
"Yay! Estaah Eck!"

The boys with their booty

Easter evening at Aunt Lynn and Uncle Art's:
Those stunning teenage girls were our little flower girls in our wedding. Time sure does fly!

I slaved over baking the most perfect pink bunny cookies for hours just for my children. They certainly came out nicely, don't you agree? Oh, stop laughing. Okay, so I didn't actually make the batter. Or cut them out. Or make the designs in them. But Cameron did add sprinkles. And I did actually buy them at the grocery store. Okay, wait...maybe my husband did that. But I put them in the oven! Whew! Now I need a nap.

Even sweeter than those cookies was getting Cameron to begin understanding the real meaning of Easter. After talking about it several times, he announced to me out of the blue,
"God gave us heaven for Easter." Well said, my honey bunny.

Funny Bunnies

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a bunny fanatic. I was born during the Easter season, so my mom and dad always got me a ceramic bunny -- which eventually evolved into a full-blown collection -- every year. I have also owned various real bunnies in my lifetime. So when I was pregnant and choosing themes for the boys' rooms, I naturally flocked to anything with bunnies. Since both of my boys were also born during the Easter season (and Cameron on my own birthday), they have always been my little funny bunnies. My little men have donned all sorts of bunny ears and bunny suits in their short little lives (a fact I hope does not result in years of therapy later). I can't help it! I promise I wouldn't do it if they didn't look so darn hoppy -- oops, I mean happy -- wearing them. Here are this year's additions:
Cameron made this bunny hat at preschool.
(See! He does it himself now!)

There isn't much cuter than my Connor's cottontail!

My Honey Bunny

Maybe in a future post I will include pics from previous bunny outfits. But for now, hare's hoping you have a Happy Easter!

Street Smarts

My good friend and colleague, Kristen, got us great fourth row seats to see Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music with her family and friends. It was our second time seeing SSL with Kristen's family, and the boys enjoyed it just as much this time. Connor actually sat in his very own big boy seat for the first half (and then on Mommy's lap for the second), and he and Cameron were mesmerized by the larger-than-life characters.

The show begins!

Elmo and Oscar

The "Street" Gang

Connor enthusiastically claps along to the beat.

Cameron mugs for the camera during the show.

Connor fell asleep in seconds after the show and the long (cold and extremely windy) walk back to the car. No doubt, he is seeing visions of Elmo dancing in his head.

Our Sweet Family

So, I have to admit; I have wondered what a different hairstyle or makeup would look like on me, but I never actually considered what my family and I would look like with hard candy shells. But now I know! My own little peanut M&M and I had fun making these. Now, if only I really had those legs ...

If you want to see what you would look like as an M&M, click here.

Our Lil' Leprechaun

This lucky charm is certainly worth more than any pot of gold. Happy St. Patty's Day to all!

And the Winner Is...

Hold your head up high, Gemma! You are the winner. Gemma (the boys' paternal grandmother) correctly guessed -- very quickly, I might add -- that Connor can count up to 14 without missing any numbers. I was trying to wait a few days to see if anyone else had some creative guesses before I gave away the answer, but since I knew Gemma was dying to know, I decided to end the suspense.

I would love to show you a video of Connor's counting skills, but lately, he is only interested in seeing the video rather than starring in one when I bring out the camera. It's a hard concept to explain to an almost-two-year-old: no, you can't see yourself while you are being recorded, silly. For now, you will just have to trust me that he can count to 14. And you can also trust me that hearing him do it is oh, so cute.

The Magic Number

Well, fourteen has become the magic number for Connor. And I have to say, I am quite proud. But I thought it would be fun, before I reveal its significance, for you to guess why 14 is of any importance. So, let's hear it! Click on the comments link and guess away! I will look forward to seeing if anyone can guess correctly.

P.S. I can't offer any prizes, but I will offer you my complete and utter admiration if you guess correctly. And I'll even make a big deal of you right here on this very blog.

P.P.S. No restrictions apply. In other words, you can guess as many times as your little heart desires. :)

I Am Blessed

Tonight at dinner, I sneezed. And my precious 23 month-old son looked right at me and said, "Bess you." And then my heart swelled.

When It Pours? Dinosaurs!

It has been really raining since Connor woke us up this morning. So, we decided a trip to the Delaware Museum of Natural History was in order (a.k.a. "the dinosaur museum"). Cameron was especially excited to go since we will be having the boys' birthday party there. Enjoy your own mini-tour:

While we all enjoyed the museum, Connor was especially excited to see Daddy driving back to the entrance pick us up. (He obviously didn't realize that meant it was nap time.)

March Madness

Wasn't it just a few posts ago that we were playing in the snow? Well, we aren't complaining, because we are loving this sudden spurt of nice weather. What does that silly groundhog know, anyway? It sure feels like spring to us.

(Shhh...just don't tell the boys that the weather reports say it will be winter again in a few days.)
