Goin' Dutch

As our last hurrah before school began, we decided to take the boys to their very first amusement park. Peanut had been on the rides at the beach, and after Pumpkin's first partially-successful attempt at the beach rides, we figured it was worth a shot. Many of my friends recommended we try Dutch Wonderland since it specifically caters to young children, so away we went!

We're here!

In front of the castle entrance...

Peanut's first ride at the park. Think he liked it?!?

Pumpkin got excited when he saw the monster trucks (his first ride there) and threw a fit when it was time to get off (so the nice people at the park let them all go a second time).

Peanut's first pony ride...

...and Pumpkin's first pony ride! He was a very proud li'l cowboy. (And yes...I was crying. Again.)

Peanut's first kiddie roller coaster! (I think Daddy had as much fun as Peanut did, considering how many times they went back on!)

Our first Thomas the Tank Engine live show!

And after sitting down for some yummy Dippin' Dots for everyone, we headed back home after a great day of fun.

And Pumpkin showed his utter appreciation about ten whole seconds later.

What an amusing day filled with firsts!

What a fun and FULL day. That looks like a great place for children! Your boys will be reliving all the excitement for a long time for sure!

Have a wonderful Labor Day!

Very cool! I want to try to take Jake there again before the summer is really, really, really over. I used to love going to Dutch Wonderland when I was a kid! :)

P.S. - I am starting to think you don't have text messaging on your phone.... that would explain a few things...you are usually pretty responsive otherwise - lol

Looks like a totally fun-filled day!! Love the first pic of Peanut--if that's not pure joy, I don't know what is! And the last pic of Pumpkin really says it all! Bet Mom and Dad felt the same way by then. :)

Wow! It does look like fun. That's one place we haven't been to yet. I think we'll definitely have to make it up there next summer! :)

Daddy here. Yep, it was a fun-filled day all around. Pumpkin was the perfect age to start enjoying the rides, and Peanut had a blast. And yes, I did get a thrill riding the kiddie roller coaster. :)
